If You are a Homeschooler Vacations = Field Trips

We just finished our "vacation" week last week. We decided to stay here and explore our own backyard. Usually on vacation we visit museums or a zoo and we always end up saying the ones close to home are so much better.

We went to the National Zoo, the Museum of Natural History, Port Discovery Children's Museum in Baltimore, and Chocolate World in Hersey, PA. Even though we stayed close to home, everyone had a blast. Even with the astronomical cost of parking and gas each day we saved a bundle. Every place we visited had free admission with the exception of Port Discovery. We packed a lot of lunches. (Who really wants to eat Museum food anway?) We also saved a small fortune on a hotel and the kennel fee.
